Emperor Fa (發) was the 16th ruler of the Xia Dynasty, second to the infamous Jie who brought the dynasty to its end.[1]
His given name was Houjin (后敬). During his inaugural celebration, all of his vassals gathered at his palace. The first earthquake ever recorded took place at Mount Tai (泰山) in modern Shandong during his reign. The event has been dated to 1831 BCE as the Mount Tai earthquake.[2]
